Secret to Lasting Weight-loss and Staying in Shape

August 4th, 2010

Have you ever battled with losing weight or do you know someone who has? It’s a health condition that is more common then you would probably think. And most people who battle with this issue fall into the category of serial dieter. If this is the case then we can bet that most, if not all of those diets have eventually failed. In fact research suggests that once we finish a diet we are more likely to put the weight back on. Does this sound familiar? Are you craving foods and have that compulsive desire to eat unhealthy things like cake and sweets and things that prevent you from losing weight and keeping it off. Have you had the advice from your doctor to cut back on the calories and the fat to improve your health and you just can’t do it? The chances are you have been successful in many areas of your life but just can’t stay on that healthy diet and lose weight no matter high hard you try.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to never have to worry about food again like a naturally thin person and wished that you could be like that? Have you ever wondered how certain people eat whatever they want and never gain weight? And have you also noticed that all those weight loss programs come down to diet and exercise and then more diet and exercise. But if you have done all that and still have a problem with achieving your weight loss and fitness goals, then what are you going to do? Well if you are ready to learn the real solution then keep reading.

The real solution is a lot simpler then you think and you won’t typically hear it from most personal trainers or dietitians because it starts with how you think and the relationship you have with yourself. If you think like an overweight or out of shape person then even if you get into shape at some point you’ll quickly revert back to your old self almost 100% of the time. This is very dangerous, because through the cycle of losing, and then gaining, then back to losing again forms a negative behavioral feedback loop. This loop will keep you trapped, feeling badly about yourself and enslave you to forever be investing in the expensive latest hope filled diet crazes and quick fix personal training.

Have you ever noticed that the people at the gym who are in shape are typically not the ones working out with the personal trainers.. Then have you ever noticed the people that are typically working with the personal trainers are the one’s out of shape, and you see them a few times to never see them again.. If you have, then suppose there is a reason for that. Suppose that if being in shape and losing weight is not about the action, then maybe the real answer rests within our thoughts and beliefs..

If you agree that the answer lays within your thoughts and beliefs then you will also probably agree that the way to avoid problems is to first address the issue, with that issue being your thoughts and beliefs. I bet you could imagine what it would be like waking up in the morning feeling complete and whole. Eating the right things because you want to, instead of because you feel like you have too. Then imagine going to the gym to work out because that is part of who you are instead of as someone trying to keep up with false images and perceptions. If you were able to imagine that then you should also be able to imagine living your life healthy and from a place of real balance, real understanding and real direction. You can do it, all you have to do first is allow it to happen. It’s easy to get excited when you think about it because it can make you feel really good.

What are my options you might be wondering? NLP based Coaching is a very powerful place to turn first. It’s a cognitive based approach that works (Landmark, EST, Tony Robbins, most Conventional Coaching models etc.. base a lot of what they do off of NLP…NLP in sorts is “the source”). With that being true, after coaching now equipped with the right mind-set, you’ll be ready for the quality personal trainers to show you the exercises and the experienced dietitians to instruct you on how and what to eat.

Now that you’re aware of what’s possible with NLP based Coaching, find your own reasons to give it a shot. Then get ready to experience those necessary changes and shifts in your life that will lead you toward allowing yourself to truly realize your fitness and weight loss goals; and have them take shape permanently.

Balancing Your Life Workshop on August 8th, 2010

July 25th, 2010

If you haven’t already heard, on August 8th, 2010 in Delray Beach, Florida at Simply Yoga I am leading a Life Coaching workshop that is going to be filled with powerful information and real hands on exercises.  You will get opened up and introduced to your blind spots thus providing you with the real power to make the solid changes in your life that you are after.

Could you imagine spending a couple hours on a Sunday to possibly affect the remaining  thousands of hours  left in your life? I agree, it’s something you may not have thought about like that, though I’m sure after you think about it - it will make sense.   Sometimes it’s the small decisions we make like attending a 2 hour workshop or taking that extra minute to follow up with someone that can have the biggest impact on getting the results we want.

To add - in this workshop I’m including something extra that I have never before offered up to a group.  The only hint you will get before you get the chance to experience it is that comes from the world of NLP, which means it’s time tested and proven.  Can you imagine what it would be like to finally be able to just let go of past hang ups and self imposed limitations.. then imagine being able to snap your fingers and all of a sudden see, hear, and feel things differently in the way that serves you well.  That’s a glimps into the NLP technique you’re going to get to experience.

For now, that’s all.  The rest and more on Sunday, August 8th - 2010.  See you then!

Imagine A Life With More Self Discipline..

July 12th, 2010

Having self discipline means that you have a path to freedom and to more of what you want. Some people will naturally disagree with this statement because they see the word discipline as a negative, as something that you have to do, must do without choice. For people that see discipline as a negative word it actually becomes equal to their absence of freedom and choice; however if you have discipline in your life you will see a change in how productive you are, thus freeing up your time to do many other things. If you have self discipline it means you can act intelligently and not be led by your emotions.

We know that this may involve sacrificing something of pleasure that in the short term may cause you some discomfort. The long term results of changing the way you think and behave can have a tremendous impact on your success in life. These successes can range from your relationships right through to financial freedom. Having self discipline means we can focus on a new project with that initial enthusiasm. It might mean going to the gym and leading that healthy lifestyle or putting your socks and underwear in the hamper, to waking up early to focus on your dreams and goals, or even putting the toilet seat down after you finish, to perhaps staying up late to complete that project, or even just understand that you can change your diet because you want to.

If you struggle with self discipline the good news is that it can be both developed and embedded into all aspects of your mind and emotions. We use an NLP based coaching approach for this because it creates a powerful message for you to change and to use self discipline in all areas of your life. You will see a quick change in the way you think and feel about yourself. This change will relate to all areas of your life that you want to develop. Maybe it’s a new relationship, maybe making that special person in your life feel valued, or it could be starting your path toward financial freedom. Whatever you desire you can achieve it but you must have the discipline to start and then continue with passion and commitment.

Are you ready to start living with more self discipline even if you already have a it? If so, then call (305) 851-2459 today for a FREE 15 minute no obligation, no commitment, consultation to find out if this coaching program is right for you. You have nothing to lose and will never know what can be without giving yourself a chance, you’re worth it, so call today.

Quotes on Purpose and Motivation

July 6th, 2010

Sharing is caring. Here are some quotes I’m sharing with you for this evening. Enjoy!

“Success is nearest to those whose efforts are intense and sincere.”
Patanjali

“I have never in the past 30 years have someone say to me on the show, that the reason I am so good at what I do is because I am smarter than everyone else. It is all because I have wanted it more, I worked harder, I focused more, I sacrificed more, and more importantly, I had a deep passion for the thing.”
Charlie Rose

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking, and don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.”

Pictures from The Dating and Relationship Workshop - 6/20/2010

June 23rd, 2010

Last Sunday we held a Dating and Relationship workshop at Simply Yoga of Delray Beach - Florida.

Like the workshop we had the previous week, we had people travel from around the tri-country area to attend.

This workshop is inspired from the research and findings revealed through: Evolutionary Psychology, Behavioral Genetics, NLP and Anthropology.

What makes this especially unique is that the material covered is based on fact and real scientific research and NOT on personal opinion or some self-proclaimed relationship expert / love guru’s opinion.

We covered topics like: attraction, how it isn’t choice but character is, to traits that men and women unconsciously look for in the opposite sex (somewhat counter intuitive stuff here) to even where the biological impulse comes from that make some people want to cheat. All that and more was covered on June 20th.

As no future workshops are scheduled at this present time please check this page often for updates: http://www.kamjah.com/events-and-workshops.php

Below see pictures from last Sunday (only a couple were taken)

Do you want to join us and be part of the group for a future workshop or get together? Then check back here often: http://www.kamjah.com/events-and-workshops.php

Release, Heal And Share With “MY THREE THINGS”

June 22nd, 2010

A good friend of mine with a very big heart has started a website called MyThreeThings.org.  Below she has provided me with a write up describing the site and what it’s all about.  Read below then check it out to see for yourself.

Shame and guilt have a profound effect on all of our lives. These painful and destructive emotions  thrive in the endless stream of things we hold against ourselves. They show up in our memories, thoughts, behaviors, opinions, beliefs, values, relationships…the list goes on and on.  Communication alone has the power to bring awareness, understanding and healing into our lives.  Why, then, do we choose to suffer in silence? We worry we will be abandoned or unloved if people found  out who we “really” are. We worry about possible social consequences if we admit the things we have done.  We worry what our parents, friends, children, siblings, lovers and bosses will think of us. So we only reveal what we like about ourselves; what we believe others will approve of. We adorn social masks to disguise ourselves,  harboring a sad, thin hope that we might please others enough to win their love and respect. All at the expense of living an authentic life.

Are you ready to make a shift? My Three Things is offering an opportunity to release, heal and share your story.
Visit http://MyThreeThings.org to participate! Here’s how it’s done: Think of three specific things you’re willing to forgive yourself for.  Once you have three things in mind, simply fill out a release form on their website and submit.
Submissions are being collected for a book and a documentary.  And yes, you have the option to remain anonymous.

If you find it difficult to forgive others, then consider this: People often get caught up in a “self-righteous victim” mentality. “If this person treated me more lovingly or had never done this or that, then I would be alright”. It’s never completely true, is it?  No one has that much power over you. Blaming others allows you to pretend that they do, but it simply isn’t so. The only behavior we are responsible for or have the ability to transform is our own. If you focus on your own flaws, bring them to light and accept them without judgment, you will begin to feel compassion for both yourself and others.

My Three Things is a healing process. First, acknowledge your “things” by releasing them. This allows you to step onto a path that leads to loving and accepting yourself unconditionally.  Then, heal them. Releasing judgment and feeling compassion is what allows you to truly forgive others as well as yourself. Now, share them. Sharing your “three things” will do more than just benefit you. Your willingness to share a true and hidden part of yourself will inspire others to do the same!

This project was created to facilitate a unique and healing connection among people around the world. You have the opportunity to participate, so go for it!

Forgive yourself. Share it with the world!

You Are Not Your Emotions

June 11th, 2010

You have emotions, but your emotions are not you. You have a body but your body is not you. You have an emotional life but you are not your emotions or your feelings.

Emotions are very powerful things and like our outer form (body), they are nothing more then tools to help us navigate through the world. At best emotions are ‘present moment’ indicators and NOT to be confused with ‘intuition’.

All too often people find themselves over-identifying and making decisions based on their emotions instead of on who they really are inside. Over identifying with your emotions can lead you toward developing a self identity based on emotional responses which then becomes dependent upon external qualities (looks, physical, etc) and actions (validation, approval, etc..).

How do you know if you are making a decision based on  emotion as opposed to who you really are inside?

Let’s find out.

For starters before you make a ‘yes’ decision about something ask yourself first: “is this ‘yes’ answer is coming from  ME  based on who I  really am inside and what I stand for”?. If not and you answer that question with a no then chances are your decision is charged off an emotion instead of yourself (YOU).

Examples of EMOTIONALLY based decisions include:

  1. Investing money that you can’t afford to lose by being seduced into the ‘big win.’
  2. Sleeping with someone only to feel better about yourself then feeling bad about it the next day.
  3. Receiving plastic surgery expecting it to solve your issues and still having the same issues that you had before the surgery.
  4. Getting angry and then losing control like beating someone up or self abuse like drinking.

Examples of the above decisions reflecting the SELF instead and not being emotionally driven:

  1. Investing & losing money… The flip here is that you can live with it. You first made sure you were clear with yourself on knowing the risks associated and the fact that it didn’t work out doesn’t make you feel bad. You move on.
  2. Sleeping with someone… The flip here is doing so because you truly want too and not giving it a second thought.
  3. Getting plastic surgery… The flip side is getting plastic surgery from a place of personal enhancement where you go into it already feeling great and then enjoying the enhancement after.
  4. Getting angry and realizing your anger is only an emotion and taking time to cool off.

Next time you feel prone to making an impulse decision take a moment to notice where it is coming from and make note of the emotion you are feeling at the moment. Then cross reference that decision against who YOU are and what YOU are all about. Decisions that truly come from you are solid and there can be no such thing as regrets from them, and at worst only learning experiences.

When you learn how to recognize truly that YOU are not your emotions, and YOU are not your physical form then YOU become able to make better decisions that truly serve your identity instead one’s that gamble with it.
